My name is Haley Spisak and this is my online Capstone Portfolio. I am a certified K-5th elementary educator in Michigan with endorsements in both Language Arts (K-8th self-contained) and English as a Second Language (ESL). I have previous teaching experience in Wayne-Westland Community Schools teaching 5th grade. Since the the fall of 2019, I have been teaching 3rd grade in Howell Public Schools at Three Fires Elementary.
I graduated from Michigan State University (GO GREEN!) in 2016 and completed my year-long student teaching internship in a 1st grade classroom at Bennett Woods Elementary in Okemos, MI. After 4 years of teaching, I decided to pursue my Masters of Arts in Education through Michigan State's program. I began the Masters program in the summer of 2021 and will tentatively graduate December of 2022. My area of focus in my Masters program has been Literacy.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. Achieving the goal of becoming a teacher was one of the greatest days of my life. I get the privilege to teach the next generation every single day. I get to be there to celebrate successes, nurture problem solving and grow relationships with each of my students. Every day I encourage my students to challenge themselves to be the best person that they can be, and I want to challenge myself to be the best educator that I can be, to be the educator that my students deserve.
